Your Role
As an engineer, you work within an Agile team (squad). Together with your open-minded, highly motivated colleagues, you work in two-week sprints. Within your team, chapter, and beyond, you proactively share your opinions with other agile teams. Why? To share, spread, and grow knowledge.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
Functional/application maintenance of mortgage application systems.
Development and maintenance of automated regression tests for a third-party mortgage platform. The tests are written using Java, BDD, and Selenium.
Testing and deploying software releases.
Supporting users of the mortgage application systems.
Building and maintaining the Microsoft deployment pipeline in Azure DevOps.
Performance tuning, monitoring, and alerting.
Our Technology Stack
The back-end APIs are built on an internally developed framework based on Spring Boot, using Oracle and MS SQL databases, and run on virtualized infrastructure (Linux and Windows platforms). On the Windows platform, a limited amount of third-party software is used.
The regression (end-to-end) automated test suites are built using Java, Selenium, private cloud infrastructure, and Docker.
To comply with regulatory requirements, release processes can sometimes feel somewhat bureaucratic. Therefore, you must be able to quickly learn and understand these processes and have the ambition to continuously improve and automate them wherever possible.

A production deployment takes place every two weeks on Thursday evenings, and your involvement is expected approximately once every six weeks.
A 24/7 standby rotation is in place, and you are expected to be on call for one week approximately every ten weeks. Compensation is provided.
You actively maintain contact with stakeholders across the mortgage (test) chain and system integrations.
You review and improve documentation.
The work location is in the Amsterdam area, and you are expected to work from the office two days per week.
Your Skills (Senior Testing Experience)
Functional knowledge of financial applications and mortgage products.
Experience implementing financial software packages.
Expert-level test automation skills.
Experience building virtual test environments.
Experience with CI/CD tooling, at minimum Azure DevOps and Docker.
Experience working in Agile, Scrum, and Kanban environments.
Monitoring and observability knowledge, including Azure Insights and OpenTelemetry.
Strong verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English.
The application landscape is complex with many APIs, and experience testing APIs is essential.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot deep into .NET application layers.
Nice to Have
Basic Linux/Windows operations and automation skills.
Experience building applications within a Java framework (for example Spring Boot).
Advanced knowledge that can help improve the CI/CD pipeline (for example using Azure DevOps and/or Docker).
Experience with DevOps practices, including production monitoring using Grafana and Kibana.
Experience working in a corporate environment.
Experience with security monitoring.
Development skills in .NET and/or Java.
