For our client in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Solution Architect/ Engineer (TOGAF, DevOps, Compliance).

This request is not suitable for zzp.

Job Summary:
Strengthens the quality of IT systems design and implementation, optimizing technology infrastructure, operational efficiency, scalability, reliability, and security, and ensuring seamless alignment between design and implementation and business and architecture.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Acts as the liaison between Domain Architects and DevOps teams.
• Understands business context, needs, rules, architecture, organizational structure, culture, capabilities, and processes.
• Translates regulations (e.g., laws), policies, and requirements into practical solutions.
• Documents "as-is" and "to-be" processes and designs, outlining the necessary changes for migration to the "to-be" state (e.g., roadmaps, migration plans).
• Organizes and supports DevOps team workshops and presentations to facilitate design and decision-making (e.g., Architecture Content Meetings, Architecture Review Meetings).
• Understands architecture patterns, such as: Request/Reply; Event-driven architecture (e.g., Kafka); Microservices; Resilience patterns (e.g., retry strategies)
• Develops Well-Architected patterns by co-creating Cookbooks and training developers on their application. Escalates deviations when necessary.
• Translates Solution Architectures into Feature Solution Approaches in collaboration with DevOps teams.
• Stays current with the latest trends in Platform Architecture, particularly in Cloud-Native Applications and the Well-Architected Framework.
• Supports DevOps teams in defining and estimating Epics, Features, and User Stories, improving predictability for PSS and QBR processes.
• Identifies instances of non-compliance with organizational policies, procedures, or regulatory codes within the team, reporting and escalating issues as appropriate.
• Monitors and reviews service performance and behavior within the area of responsibility, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory codes.
• Closes the loop, ensuring code development aligns with architecture and design guidelines. Guides developers and escalates compliance issues when necessary.

Qualifications
• At least 5 years of experience as an engineer or architect.
• Experience working in highly regulated environments (e.g., financial institutions).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical topics to various audiences.
• Strong ability to develop collaborative partnerships with organizational leaders.
• A continuous improvement mindset—constantly enhancing your skills while challenging, mentoring, and training others.
• A master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• In-depth knowledge and experience with IT architecture methodologies and processes (e.g., TOGAF), service management processes, and agile work environments.
