For our client in Amsterdam, we are looking for a Network & Security Engineer (Palo Alto (Panorama), F5 LTM/GTM).
This role is suitable for zzp.
Summary
Senior Network & Security Engineer responsible for implementing and maintaining secure and scalable network and application delivery solutions within hybrid infrastructure. Contributed to IPC migrations, support of Lifecycle Management (LCM) projects, and implementation of new functionality, ensuring compliance with the standards, Agile ways of working, and operational stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Implemented Palo Alto firewall configurations (Panorama GUI & CLI), including policies, NAT, and zone configurations.
- Managed Infoblox IPAM (IP allocation, subnet management, DNS updates).
- Configured F5 LTM/GTM: VIPs, pools, pool members, health monitors, and iRules for traffic steering and persistence.
- Implemented VPN (site-to-site) and leased line connectivity.
- Designed and enforced router ACLs for segmentation and traffic control.
- Supported LCM projects by implementing required network and security changes.
- Delivered new functionality including new VIPs, routing setups, and security enhancements.
- Supported IPC migrations with end-to-end connectivity and security implementation.
Agile / Ways of Working
- Worked in Agile (Scrum) teams, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinements, and retrospectives.
- Managed and tracked work via Azure DevOps backlog (user stories, tasks, change-related activities).
- Coordinated implementation activities through ServiceNow (SNOW) for change management and approvals.
- Ensured alignment between backlog work items and controlled change execution processes.
Governance & Documentation
- Maintained runbooks and ensured audit-compliant documentation after each change.
- Ensured traceability between Azure DevOps backlog items and ServiceNow change records.
Operations
- Supported incident resolution and contributed to root cause analysis.
