Omschrijving:
For our client in Amsterdam we are looking for a Data Engineer (DataStage, Data Modelling, Oracle Exadata, Netezza, SQL Server)
THIS ROLE IS SUITABLE FOR ZZP !!
Job Profile Summary
Delivers and maintains IT applications and services in order to realize the organization s strategy in the field of information technology.
Your job
As a senior engineer you will be working closely together with a Mortgages product team of 6-8 people consisting of three or four other Data Engineers and two or three Data Management Experts. In addition, you will be collaborating with the Product Lead who decides on the priority of the backlog. Each data content squad is responsible for their own set of sources from the extraction of the data, either in real-time or through batches, to the delivery of Data Marts for Cognos Reporting. Agile maturity is required for each team member since we don't have a dedicated Scrum Master.
You will be responsible for onboarding Mortgages Data Files. Approx. 160 will be moved into the data lake and for this senior expertise is needed with regards to DataStage tooling. You will also be creating an Integration Layer and guide junior engineers from an architectural point of view.
Mapping specifications to be created to load data from different source systems and developing ETL jobs to load Mortgages Integration layer is also part of your day-to-day job. As the work is highly independent, we are looking for someone with a can-do mentality and senior knowledge.
Your work environment
Within our engineers work in multi-disciplinary teams based on the Agile methodology and DevOps principles. Our client adopted the 'Spotify' model, which means that you are part of a matrix organization. You work together with product teams.
The Data Management area uses the physical modelling method, what we call: 'Key-Version' modelling. It's a mix between relational modelling and Data Vault. You will also model our Data Marts, using the Kimball Dimensional Model method. Having hands-on experience in using Type 3 (slowly changing) dimensions is a minimum requirement.
Additional tasks working with the product team will consist of designing, developing, testing and deploying IBM Information Server artefacts, mainly involving DataStage, as well as developing new frameworks and packages using Cognos Analytics.
Who are you?
You are an enthusiastic, motivated senior engineer who likes to work together with a team on complex data integration solutions. Innovating to do things smarter and continuous personal development are in your engineering DNA. Your goal in the end is to make yourself redundant! Rather than repeatedly building the same job, you standardize and automate work to provide you with the time to take on other engineering challenges to further develop yourself as an engineer.
Automation is not limited to DataStage but to the complete end-to-end delivery including automated testing, continuous delivery and operations. You have a mentality that aligns with our culture where you 'Take it on and make it happen'. You naturally behave in accordance with our values and you take the banker s oath, like all employees.
Qualifications
You recognize yourself in following profile.
Together with a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Data Engineer in similar environments, we expect you to have had experience working with the following tools, techniques and way of working:
